You cannot talk about Black Metal without involving Satan, Norway and unease in its broadest sense. The most extreme and uncompromising metal subgenre has been destroying any rule for the last thirty years or so thanks to corpse-paint, screams and blast-beats, sparing nothing and no one. Against religion, against comfort, against humanity itself, Black Metal is the antagonist genre par excellence. Yet, despite this attitude, it has been contaminated by any music wave. Be it melodic, atmospheric, blackgaze, Norwegian or Cascadian, it won’t matter, as long as it is evil.
